Recycling a very old idea: sails for boats!

SkySails hasn’t finished doing all the calculations yet, but estimates fuel savings of 10–15% during the time the kite was flying, as the ship cruised at top speed using less engine power. That is a saving of about US$1,000 to $1,500 in fuel costs per day.
